TO WONDER AT BEAUTY- THE GARMENTS
Two looks from the project To Wonder At Beauty. All textiles and garments made by me.
Nuno-felted Top (wool on silk)
Indigo-Dyed Skirt with Sashiko Embroidery (linen)
Bolero Jacket- made from repurposed scraps, indigo dyed with Shibori techniques & stitched together with Sashiko embroidery (cotton and silk on linen)
Zero Waste Patterned Dress- naturally dyed with cochineal, marigold, and red wine using Shibori dyeing techniques (silk)
This collection is inspired by my childhood education and the hand-crafted techniques I learned there such as felting, knitting, sewing, dyeing, and embroidery. It also explores the concept of slow fashion and different avenues of sustainability like upcycling, repurposing, natural dyeing, and zero waste. Project book can be viewed here.
